Na Svečanoj dodjeli Nagrada Hrvatskog muzejskog društva, održanoj u četvrtak, 20.10.2016. godine u Muzeju Mimara dodjeljene su Nagrade za životno djelo i Godišnje nagrade projektima realiziranim u 2015. godini.
Ocjenjivački sud za dodjelu Nagrada HMD-a imao je težak zadatak izbora između 50 pristiglih prijava, ne samo zbog brojnosti prijava već i zbog njihove kvalitete, stoga su dodjeljena i Posebna priznanja.
Dodjeli nagrada nazočila je dr.sc. Ana Lederer, zamjenica ministrice kulture Republike Hrvatske i mr.sc. Veljko Mihalić, voditelj Odsjeka za muzejsku, likovnu i knjižničnu djelatnost Gradskog ureda za obrazovanje, kulturu i sport.
NAGRADA ZA ŽIVOTNO DJELO HMD-a 2015.
Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje Nagradu za životno djelo Hrvatskog muzejskog društva u 2015. godini dr. sc. Ivanu Mirniku, umirovljenom muzejskom savjetniku Arheološkog muzeja u Zagrebu za izniman dugogodišnji doprinos muzejskoj struci.

1. Kategorija za realiziranu izložbu
U kategoriji za realiziranu izložbu u 2015. godini nagrada se dodjeljuje autoricama Snježani Pintarić i Annie Le Brun za izložbu Nepokorena šuma i Radovan Ivšić.
2. Kategorija za realizirani stalni postav
U kategoriji za realizirani stalni postav u 2015. godini Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje nagradu Muzeju vučedolske kulture.
3. Kategorija za realizirani izdavački projekt
U kategoriji za realizirani izdavački projekt u 2015. godini nagrada se dodjeljuje Arheološkom muzeju Istre za monografiju Monkodonja, Istraživanje protourbanog naselja brončanog doba Istre – knjiga 1, Iskopavanje i nalazi građevina, Monografije i katalozi 25.
4. Kategorija za provedeni istraživački rad koji je rezultirao izložbom
Ocjenjivački sud smatra kako rad kolegica Sanje Ivančić i Sanje Acalija na izložbi Povismo i sukno: kaštelansko tradicijsko ruho zaslužuje Godišnju nagradu Hrvatskog muzejskog društva za 2015. godinu u kategoriji istraživački rad koji je rezultirao izložbom.
5. Kategorija za provedeni istraživački rad koji je rezultirao stručnom publikacijom
U kategoriji provedeni istraživački rad koji je rezultirao stručnom publikacijom u 2015. godini Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje nagradu Gordani Milaković za istraživački rad koji je rezultirao katalogom Istra Istria MEMENTO izbor iz fundusa Zbirke starih razglednica.
6. Kategorija za realizirani pedagoško – edukacijski program
U kategoriji za realizirani pedagoško – edukacijski program u 2015. godini Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje nagradu Marijanu Bogatiću za pedagoško – edukacijski projekt Volonterski kamp.
7. Kategorija za marketinško – propagandni program
U kategoriji marketinško – propagandnog programa u 2015. godini Ocjnivački sud dodjeljuje nagradu programu 3. dani industrijske baštine grada Siska u realizaciji Gradskog muzeja Sisak.
8. Kategorija za međumuzejsku suradnju
U kategoriji za međumuzejsku suradnju u 2015. godini Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje nagradu projektu Zlato i srebro srednjeg vijeka matičnih arheoloških muzeja Republike Hrvatske u realizaciji Arheološkog muzeja u Zagrebu, Arheološkog muzeja u Splitu, Arheološkog muzeja Zadar, Arheološkog muzeja Istre i Muzeja Slavonije.

3. Posebno priznanje za dugogodišnju nakladničku aktivnost
Posebno priznanje za dugogodišnju nakladničku aktivnost i sustavno proučavanje i promicanje povijesnih ličnosti Dubrovnika Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje Dubrovačkim muzejima.
4. Posebno priznanje za izradu faksimila muzejske građe
Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje Josipu Kraliku restauratoru Muzeja Slavonije Posebno priznanje za izradu faksimila metalnih muzejskih predmeta koji su korišteni u izložbenoj djelatnosti i edukacijskim programima Muzeja Slavonije u 2015. godini.
5. Posebno priznanje za pedagoško – edukacijski projekt
Posebno priznanje za pedagoško – edukacijski projekt u 2015. godini Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje Prirodoslovnom muzeju Rijeka za programu Raznolikost je bitna.
6. Posebno priznanje za marketinško – propagandni program
Posebno priznanje za marketinško – propagandni program u 2015. godini Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje Arheološkom muzeju Istre za program Spectacula Antiqua.
7. Posebno priznanje za međumuzejsku suradnju
Posebno priznanje za međumuzejsku suradnju u 2015. godini Ocjenjivački sud dodjeljuje Gradskom muzeju Varaždin za izložbeni projekt Velikani hrvatske umjetnosti 20 st. / Izložba iz fundusa Galerije starih i novih majstora Gradskog muzeja Varaždin koja je realizirana u Beču, Bratislavi i Budimpešti.
8. Posebno priznanje van kategorija
Posebno priznanje van kategorija dodjeljuje se Gradskom muzeju Požega za projekt Muzej u loncu kojim istražuje, valorizira i promiče nematerijalnu kulturnu baštinu – tradicijsko kulinarstvo Slavonije, Baranje i Srijema.

In honor of International Women’s Day, the Bible Lands Museum invites you to a fascinating tour in the footsteps of female figures in Biblical cultures.
Women have always been associated with various concepts such as love, aesthetics and fertility but also war, assertiveness and more. The tour will follow the image of the women as reflected in the cultures of the ancient Near East countries.
We will examine the the status of women – what power did they have inside the home and out of it? If they managed to change laws in their favor? How beauty and femininity were perceived in the various cultures and more.

Arak Quartet – four generations of Babylonian poetry

Four poets, four different generations, two men and two women, one born in Baghdad and the rest born in Israel, come together to celebrate Babylonian poetry that goes back to their roots and stories from their grandmother’s home. The Babylonian exile left its mark on the culture of the Jewish people until today. This special event will expose contemporary poetry that, among other things, has been influenced by the Babylonian Jewish culture originating from Baghdad to Kurdistan in North Iraq and North East Syria.
The four poets will recite their poems and present Babylon from a biographical and Midrashic perspective: How is Babylon reflected today in poetry as a metaphor and identity?

New exhibition opening: Masks and Stories

A new exhibition, “Masks and Stories” composed entirely of masks belonging to private individuals: For the first time, it is the public who will be showcasing their treasures at the museum. The exhibition is part of the “Community Curates” project, which involves the museum asking the public to dust off the treasures they have stored in drawers, attics and boxes, and be a part of a unique exhibition consisting of personal possessions. The exhibition, which opens around Purim, will feature masks from all continents, ancient and modern, from armature collections as well as professionals and will be accompanied by guided tours and special activities.

By the Rivers of Babylon
The Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem is proud to present By the Rivers of Babylon, the world premier exhibition of the earliest documents that illustrate the lives of the first exiles of from the pivotal chapter in Jewish history, the Babylonian Exile.
Experience the destruction of Jerusalem, the grueling journey to Babylonia, the daily lives of the Judean exiles in captivity and finally the return to Zion.
On display for the first time are original artifacts dating to the destruction of Jerusalem and the Babylonian Exile, including clay tablets from the Al-Yahudu archive (named after the city that the Judean exiles settled, in southern Iraq) which display fascinating evidence of the lives of the exiles. This archive is considered one of the most important archaeological finds relating to the history of the Jewish people. Complementing these artifacts are illustrations from the Medieval and Modern eras of the dramatic events which have become a symbol of the resilience of the Jewish people. Advanced multi-media enhance this exhibition which focuses on one of the most important milestones in the history of the Jewish people.

From Pompeii to Jerusalem: The frescoes in this collection are believed to be from the villas of Boscotrecase, a suburb of Pompeii that was frozen in time with the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE. Sealed beneath the lava, they were preserved for centuries and still retain their vibrant colors and fine detailed painting. The beautiful frescoes, made in the Roman technique of wet plaster painting, portray magical panoramic views of nature, mythology, erotica and more. One of the prominent pieces from the collection is the “Erotic Scene of a Nude Nymph.”*On view by request only.

Exhibition – Moshe Zabari Retrospective

The BLMJ is delighted to present a retrospective exhibition of world renowned contemporary sculptor and Judaica artist, Moshe Zabari, A master craftsman for more than 60 years. The exhibition will feature selected works from his extensive range of sculptures and ceremonial objects, emphasizing the influence of ancient sources on Zabari’s design.
The exhibition will be a featured highlight of the 2nd Jerusalem Biennale of Contemporary Jewish Art 2015. Discounts for the Biennale visitors!
