Listopad-studeni 2016. Od 24. listopada do 4. studenog 2016. g. Institut za arheologiju proveo je arheološka istraživanja na lokalitetu Bršadin – Pašnjak pod selom (voditeljica: Katarina Botić) smještenom u koritu rijeke Vuke južno od sela Bršadin blizu Vukovara. Djelomično su istražene dvije manje sonde 3×5 m. U gornjim slojevima pronađena je veća količina pokretne građe koja pripada uglavnom kasnoj fazi neolitičke sopotske kulture, a manji dio nalaza iz sonde 2 pripada eneolitiku, ranom brončanom dobu i vremenu kasnog latena. Sonde su istražene do nivoa ruševina kuća. Istraživanja su potvrdila stratigrafiju dobivenu geološkim bušenjem u sklopu geoarheološkog pregleda Slavonije (18. – 23. 4. 2016.).

From 24th of October until 4th of November 2016, Institute of Archaeology carried out archaeological excavations of Bršadin – Pašnjak pod selom site (leader: Katarina Botić) situated south of the village Bršadin near Vukovar. Two probes 3×5 m were partially explored. In upper layers larger quantity of remains of material culture were found which mostly belong to the late phase of Neolithic Sopot culture. Smaller quantity of finds from the probe 2 belongs to the Eneolithic, early Bronze Age and late La Tène periods. Probes were explored to the level of house debris. Excavations confirmed the stratigraphy obtained by geological drilling performed within the geoarchaeological prospection of Slavonia (18th–23rd of April 2016).

Martin Schönfelder (Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum, Mainz, Njemačka) koje se bavi pitanjem keltskih migracija i širenja latenske kulture južno i istočno od matičnog područja uspoređujući pisane izvore sa širenjem materijalne kulture i rezultatima izotopa stroncija.

The Institute of Archaeology is honoured to invite You to the lecture “Concepts of mobility and migration in the La Tène period: critical and modern approaches”, to be held by Dr Martin Schönfelder from the Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum in Mainz, Germany, which deals with the question of Celtic Migrations and spread of the La Tène culture to the south and east of their home territory compating written sources with spread of material culture and strontium istotopy results.

Izložba Dolina na Savi – životu uz rijeku na kraju kasnog brončanog doba autorica Marije Mihaljević i Darie Ložnjak Dizdar otvorena je 10. 11. 2016. u Muzeju Brodskog Posavlja u suradnji Gradskog muzeja Nova Gradiška, Muzeja Brodskog Posavlja i Instituta za arheologiju. Izložbom se predstavljaju rezultati istraživanja groblja pod tumulima na položaju Glavičice i naselja na položaju Babine Grede u Dolini koje se provodi od 2009. godine u suradnji Instituta za arheologiju i Gradskog muzeja Nova Gradiška.
